Program Start Dates

International Development Internships, Research Internships, and Language Immersion all begin during designated start dates throughout the year. Participants should arrive in-country on the program start date in order to participate in the in-country orientation led by FSD's local site team. If you are interested in participating in ProCorps or a Group Service Trip, start dates are flexible and can be customized. Program fee

FSD is a professional organization on the cutting edge of global grassroots initiatives. All funding for our programs and projects comes from private donors and program fees. Instead of relying on donations to reduce program costs, FSD directly applies more than 80% of our revenue to supporting the efforts of our community partner organizations, at no cost to them. Our fee-for-service model provides partner organizations with the most resources possible and participants with a premier professional development experience.

What costs are included in the FSD program fee?

The program fee covers all the in-country costs of your program, including the following items:

Airport pickup
Orientation session (from 4 to 7 days depending on the season)
Family homestay throughout the program
All meals
Local chip
Development training workshops/ cultural activities
A midterm retreat
In-country support from your FSD site team 24/7
Seed funding for your project
Eligibility for additional project funding
Traveler and health insurance
Money for local transportation ( to and from ONG)

Early Bird Pricing Option

The more notice our in-country site teams and partner organizations have of your arrival, the better they can prepare and the more effective you will be. Apply early and submit your full program fee by the early application date to take $500 off the amount listed.

The early bird deadlines are October 2 (Winter), November 1 (Spring), March 15 (Summer) and June 1 (Fall)
